Cares and Needs
Committee, who meets on the first Monday evening of each month, gather to serve the Lord by providing encouragement and support to fellow congregants in their times of need. Activities include sending cards of encouragement, visiting folks who need a little extra care, coordination of recognition events, coordination of memorial luncheons and management of the electronic FBC Prayer Chain.
Sermon CD/Media Ministry
Faithful people who like sharing the word of God by duplicating Sunday's messages for those who want them. The Lord has provided us with a new CD/DVD Duplicator. With the new technology of our sound system, we are now creating CD's of the Sunday morning messages.
Christian Education Library Committee
Assist in revitalizing the church library as an important resource to facilitate spiritual growth and development. Volunteers are needed to aid in the accession of books and to staff the library when it reopens. Available are books aimed at aiding Junior High, High School, and College students grow in their faith as well as biblical and theological references for Adults. Many are already accessional and are on the shelves.
Communion and Baptism Teams
Preparing the Communion table for our monthly communion services; and provide assistance and support to Baptism candidate whenever this ceremony is held.
Discipleship
Our Lord, in the Great Commission, commanded His disciples to "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you." (Matthew 28:19-20)
Evangelism
Bringing the good news about Jesus Christ to our community through special events and outreach programs. We are all called to be witnesses to what God has done in our lives (Isaiah 44:8; Acts 1:8)
Facilities
Providing ongoing maintenance and improvements to the church building and grounds.
FBC Technical Ministry
Providing Technical support and expertise to make our services and events as powerful and impacting as they can be to bring maximum glory to God.
Finance
Administration and oversight of church financial resources.
Home Bible Studies
Weekly Home Bible Studies throughout the community. The focus is on practical application of God's Word, accountability to regularly be in the word and significant times in prayer for one another and special needs.
Prayer Chain
Brothers and Sisters in Christ who minister to each other through prayer.
The Information Booth
Information and printed materials are available to visitors about the programs offered at First Baptist Church of San Mateo.
Usher's and Greeter Teams
Volunteers that greet and welcome people to our church on Sundays. The hands of "Christian fellowship" to all who enter the Lord's sanctuary.
